About Lokta Paper (The Material)

This frame is not made from ordinary paper. It is crafted from Lokta, an ancient, sustainable material indigenous to Nepal.

• Eco-Friendly & Sustainable: Made from the bark of the Daphne bush, known locally as “Lokta.” This plant grows at high altitudes in the Himalayas and is completely renewable—when the bark is harvested, the plant regenerates, making it one of the most eco-conscious paper sources in the world.

• Durable & Long-Lasting: Lokta paper is naturally resistant to insects, humidity, and mildew, ensuring your frame lasts for years.

• Chemical Free: The paper is handmade using a traditional chemical-free process, often sun-dried to give it its characteristic natural texture.

Handmade with Heart in Nepal

When you choose this frame, you are buying more than just home decor; you are supporting a community.

• Authentically Handcrafted: Each frame is cut, pasted, and assembled by hand, meaning no two pieces are exactly alike.

• Empowering Artisans: Your purchase directly contributes to the livelihoods of skilled Nepali artisans, many of whom are women living in rural communities. This trade allows them to achieve financial independence and preserve traditional craftsmanship.
